AdCast

    Adcast offers a new type of banner network that pays on a per visitor rather than per click system. Unlike other networks, where you run their ads on your web pages, AdCast is set up so a new ad viewing window is opened when a visitor comes to your site.

     The AdCast viewing window is basically a frame at the bottom of your page, measuring 60 pixels in height. It can not be closed or moved, and might be considered quite annoying by some web surfers.


      In return, the program pays $0.01 for every unique visitor your site receives in a given day. Based on their example, a site receiving 1000 unique visitors per day would earn about $300 per month. Although this may initially sound like a good rate, keep in mind that it is for unique visitors in a 24-hour period and that stay at your site at least 60 seconds, not for every ad view. Additionally, the visitor must be running a 3.0 version or higher browser and have cookies enabled, for them to be counted.


          In addition to your earnings potential, AdCast does offer to promote your site in the network with up to 8 banner ads you submit to them. The way it works is similar to a banner exchange program wherein you receive credits which you can then use to have your banner displayed. Currently, for every 3 credits you receive, your banner will be displayed 1 on another network site one time. You receive 1 credit for showing another network's member's ad and 2 credits for each paid AdCast ad your site displays.


             Although AdCast offers the advantage of steady, somewhat reliable income from your site (as compared to pay-per-click programs), their commissions are somewhat low when considered from a unique visitor standpoint, and may not offset the inconvenience your visitors receive from the ad frame at the bottom of each of your pages.
